190 Skilled Nominated Visa
The 190 visa requires nomination from a specific Australian state or territory and is suitable for applicants whose occupations better match the needs of that particular state.
Why choose the 190 visa? Some occupations are not in short supply at the national level, but are in high demand in specific states. The 190 visa offers an opportunity to obtain these occupations with a lower EOI score.
Application requirements include:
Ages 18 to 44
IELTS score of at least 6 in each of the four sections or equivalent English proficiency
The nominated occupation is on the 190 occupation list of the designated states in Australia.
Through the relevant professional assessment
Meet the EOI scoring requirement of 65 points (the higher the score, the greater the chance of receiving an invitation).
Other points to note:
After obtaining a visa, you are usually required to commit to residing in the sponsoring state for at least two years.
State nomination policies are subject to change based on market demand; you should check the state's latest nomination list before applying.
Advantages and highlights:
Permanent resident status offers the same benefits as a 189 visa.
State nomination points increase the chances of receiving an invitation.
Some states, such as Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, and Queensland, have additional preferential policies for international students and workers.
